After realizing that my heart is its happiest when serving those different from myself and learning from them, I searched for awhile for a humanitarian non-profit organization I wanted to work with. I stopped searching when I found Help International, and somehow I was lucky enough to be hired as an In-Country Coordinator! I chose Help International because of their model, and their belief to better what can be changed, and leave unchanged what doesn't need to be changed, through grass-root and sustainable development projects.
Help International's mission is to empower people to fight global poverty through sustainable, life-changing development programs.
My current role is to lead, manage, and teach the group of volunteers and interns in Savusavu, Fiji. We work primarily in health and education projects in Fiji, but are also currently working on infrastructure and business projects. I am learning so much about the world, people, and the global connection we share through this experience.
My hope is that through working hard, and sharing a bit of ourselves and our hearts with the people of Fiji, our group will be able to touch the world for good in a lasting way. If you wish to learn more about what we do, or to be a part of our effort, please go to www.help-international.org and click the donate button. Please make sure to include my name on the line provided so that your donation makes it to the right place.
